37 Weeks

Full term! Full term! Full term!

And no better time to hit this milestone than when I had a 5-day weekend planned. Seriously, this whole ‘having a baby in December’ thing has its merits!

How Far Along: 37 Weeks

Baby’s the size of: A hobbit. No seriously. The fruit/vegetable comparison says “bok choy” and to that I say HOGWASH.
Total Weight Gain: 33 pounds. Thank you peppermint ice cream!
Gender: It’s a boy!
Best Moment this week: I had a great Saturday brunch out with my girlfriends to celebrate the impending arrival of this little boy. I seriously hit the jackpot with friends down here. Also, to a much more second degree, I’m excited to have some things marked off the checklist this week. We installed the baby’s carseat in my car (Graham is BEYOND excited to get to sit next to Baby Brother), I packed my hospital bag and Graham’s overnight bag, and we had our new pullout couch delivered a solid month early. Now we actually have a place for people to stay when they visit – woot! OH, and the curtain hardware for the baby’s nursery arrived. We’ve had the curtains for awhile, but the hardware has been conspicuously missing. It came today. Yippee! Again… curtains in the nursery just. in. time.
Maternity Clothes: Got the cold weather clothes out of storage this weekend… and then the weather warmed up in to the 70’s again. Go figure.
Movement: Strong. This guy’s getting big.
Sleep: Precarious. Now every time I wake up for whatever reason, I go ahead and make a bathroom trip just for giggles.
Cravings: Yep. Sent Andy out for peppermint ice cream this week. SO delicious!!! (And such a good sport, that one!)

Symptoms: I’m finally starting to feel out of breath when I’m sitting down (and, heck, even laying down!) Other really super awesome symptoms have started too that make me wish more and more that this guy get the heck out so I can get my body back to quasi normal.
What I miss: Sigh. Not being generally uncomfortable all the time. :(
What I’m looking forward to: We’re spending Thanksgiving tomorrow at our friends’, the Pratts’, home. I’m so excited to be able to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal and not have to do all the cooking. Like I said, guys… friend jackpot. :)

Full term belly! (And, ironically, not that much room for turkey!!!)

Comments

  1. Fun post! Love you guys! Happy, happy Thanksgiving!

  2. Love the Hobbit-sizing! You look so good for 37 weeks…on the bright side, I haven’t heard about any of the kankels and new shoes that you had to deal with at the end the last go around :)  Hope lil’ Fisch comes soon :)

    • I was pretty shocked too! No cankles (at least so far!) And no fat feet = no bigger shoe sizes either. And, while I’m at it, my big ol’ double chin has stayed away this time. Maybe it wasn’t pregnancy so much than the additional 10 pounds of weight I gained with Graham? Hmm.

  3. Flea seems to be taking it all in stride. (background)
